Thank you for inquiring about enrolling your child at O'Connor Education Support Centre. We accept applications year-round. We’re very flexible with enrolments to ensure your child gets the support they need sooner rather than later. As such, there is no application period to enrol them into the Centre. Enrolment Enquiry Starting school can be an exciting time for you and your child. At O'Connor Education Support Centre we offer small classroom sizes with a high staff ratio from Kindergarten to Year 6. You can enrol your child with O'Connor Education Support Centre providing the criteria for enrolment is met with the Enrolment for Students with Disability Policy, refer to link below. We would strongly recommend that you make an appointment to speak to us in person about your child’s enrolment. We understand that due to varying circumstances, including family relocations, may prompt you to make enrolment enquiries throughout the year. We welcome these enquiries as there can often be a small number of vacancies. A school tour can be arranged for you and your child to explore our school, meet staff and students and experience our school community. As an Independent Public School, O’Connor ESC is required to have a School Board of school parents, staff and community representatives. Our Board O'Connor ESC School Council The O'Connor ESC School Council meets once each term and consists of: Principal (Chair Person) Manager Corporate Services A Teacher An Education Assistant A Parent Representative Community Representatives Members are nominated to the Council each year. This meeting has been historically chaired by the Principal, but the parent representative signs off on the Finance Report. Members of the Council Mandy Stacey Principal Darius Krispler Staff Representative George Knowles Staff Representative Lauren Vandenbosch Community Representative Sarah Fletcher Community Representative Tina Hayes Parent Representative The O'Connor ESC School Council has the following duties: To accept/ratify the OESC Business Plan To accept/ratify the OESC Annual Report in Term 1 or 2 To accept /ratify the Student Contributions and Charges in early Term 4 so they can be distributed to students two months before the student returns to school in February for Term 1 To accept /ratify the school priorities for the new year in Term 4 To ratify the OESC Finance Meeting One-Line Budget decisions each term and sign off on the decisions. To be kept up to date regarding new programs, events, student enrolments in the ESC Downloads Annual Report Business Plan Code of Conduct Nomination Form O'Connor ESC Finance Committee This meeting is held at least once each term (depending on the completion of the tasks needed). This meeting is composed of: Principal Manager Corporate Services (Chairperson) A Teacher An Education Assistant The O'Connor ESC School Finance Committee has the following duties: To manage the financial decisions of the Manager Corporate Services and Principal, including the Principal signing off each month on the One-Line Budget. Viewing/discussing documents like “Operational One Line Budget Statement”, “Cash Report” and “Comparative Budget” as needed.
